Short CV

  • BSc in Biology – specialization in «Biodiversity, ecology and environment», Department of Biology, University of Patras (2009)
  • MSc in Ecological water quality and management at a river basin level, by the Schools of Biology, Geology and Civil Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2011)

She has been trained in sampling methods of freshwater aquatic organisms, qualitative and quantitative analyses of samples and river habitat quality assessment methods. She is also skilled in Geographic Information Systems and statistical analyses software.

During 2007, she has held a position as a research associate at the University of Patras and during 2011 at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since May 2013, she is a research associate in HCMR.

Her major research interests focus on ecological quality of surface waters based on biological, physicochemical and hydromorphological quality elements, taxonomy and ecology of freshwater phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthic macroinvertebrates, biological indices (benthic macroinvertebrates, phytoplankton, aquatic macrophytes, fish), assessment of river habitat and riparian zone quality and pressures and impacts analysis at river basin level.

Since 2007, she has participated in 3 national and international projects. She has participated in 6 conferences with oral and poster presentations and co-authored 1 technical report.
