He has attended special training courses in Stock Assessment, Statistical Data Analysis, Fish Laboratory Techniques, Image Semi-Automatic Classification and Scientific Writing
During 2004-2006, he has held a position as a research associate in the Biology Department, University of Patras, Greece.

He has research interests on fish biology and ecology mainly in small pelagic fish, fisheries oceanography, trophic ecology of small pelagic fish in relation to the structure and function of the pelagic food web and stock assessment methods and management.

He has participated in 8 national and international projects.

He has contributed 6 papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as more than 10 other publications (i.e. conference proceedings, special publications, newspaper and magazine articles) and co-authored 4 technical reports.
