Her research focuses on the phylogeny, ecology, population dynamics and population genetics of macroinvertebrate taxa inhabiting insular aquatic systems, and especially those taxa that have been assigned a threatened status in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
She was granted a Visiting Research Fulbright scholarship to conduct advanced molecular research (Next Generation Sequencing techniques) in Louisiana State University for the academic period 2017 – 2018. Since 2013, she holds a position as a research assistant at the IMBRIW (HCMR).
She has worked at the Data Collection Framework (DCF) National Program from 2013 to 2018 producing 3 publications during her time there. In June 2018, she started working at the Research Programme: Monitoring & Recording (quality, quantity, pressures & uses) the status of the aquatic systems of Greece.
