  • MSc in Hydrobiology, School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001-2003)

He has attended special training course: “Certificate in Intermediate electro-fishing”.

He supervised the project “Studying the fish assemblages of Aoos river Basin” in his MSc thesis, during 2002-2003. During 2007-2008, he has held a position as a research associate at HCMR, participating in the research project ETME ILARIONAS: “Studying fish assemblage and conservation proposals, in the construction region of Ilarionas Hydroelectric Dam”. Since 2012, he is participating as a research associate to the National River Monitoring Program, undertaken by HCMR.

He has research interests on biodiversity and conservation of aquatic organisms, freshwater fish biology and ecology, river monitoring, fish sampling in rivers (emphasis in big river sampling). He has participated in the “Mountain rivers (2005-2008)” national project and the “Life-Evrotas River (2005-2009)” European Union (EU) project.
During 2009-2012, he participated, as a member of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food delegation, in the Food and Feed Safety European Standing Committee.
