Short CV

  • BSc at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, School of Applied Science, Faculty of Biology, Biology (2010-2015)
  • MSc at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, Faculty of Science, Nature Management (Landscape, Biodiversity and Planning) (2015-2017)
  • PhD student at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, School of Applied Science, Faculty of Biology, Department of Ecology and Taxonomy (2018-Present) (2018-today)

I have a wide interest in conservation, macroecology and biogeography. I am more interested on the practical side of conservation, either on conducting research that can have direct impact on conservation actions or on the ground in terms of management plans. In the past I have worked on biogeographical patterns of biodiversity, creating a framework to assess connectivity and planning conservation strategies.

I was granted a Marie Skłodowska -Curie fellowship (2018 – 2021) for the project “Tracking changes in protection of Greek Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs)”.

The two main goals of the project are to review Greek KBAs following the new standard of KBA identification and delineation, and to improve the robustness of the protected area coverage of KBAs indicator, an official indicator of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and Aichi Targets.
