She has research interests on:
- Ecology, Phylogeny, Biogeography and Taxonomy of aquatic macroinvertebrates, primarily caddisflies (Trichoptera), damselflies/dragonflies (Odonata) and stoneflies (Plecoptera),
- Bioassessment of Mediterranean Intermittent Rivers and Ephemeral Streams (IRES),
- Conservation and Protection of endangered freshwater benthic macroinvertebrate species (with emphasis on endemic species) and Conservation and Protection of Freshwater and Wetlands Ecosystems.
During 2012, she has held a position as a technical assistant in the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 10/2013, she holds a position as a research assistant at the IMBRIW (HCMR). Also, she is an active member of the HCMR Educational Unit.
She has attended training courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Ecological Data Analysis using R. She has participated in 13 national and international projects. She has organized – coordinated 3 Summer Schools and 1 Workshop.
She has contributed with 2 papers in a peer-reviewed journals and 15 other publications (i.e. national and international conference proceedings, special publications and magazines).
