Since 2013, she holds a position as a research assistant in Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters. During 2007-2008, she has worked as a research assistant at the Department of Biology, University of Patras and during February to May 2011 as a research assistant at the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

She has more than 10 years of experience in ecological quality assessment of freshwater ecosystems based on biotic communities under the Water Framework Directive requirements. Her major research interests focus on: i. ecological quality monitoring and assessment of freshwater ecosystems based on biological, physicochemical and hydro-morphological quality elements, ii. taxonomy and ecology of freshwater benthic macroinvertebrates, phytoplankton and zooplankton, and iii. assessment of river habitat and riparian zone quality.

Since 2007, she has participated in 6 national and international projects. She has contributed 5 papers in peer-reviewed journals, participated in 9 conferences with oral and poster presentations and co-authored 3 technical reports.
