Since 2008, he is a research associate at the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters of the Hellenic Centre for Marine. His main research interests lies in the taxonomy,  iogeography and conservation of freshwater fishes, river ecological quality monitoring and assessment, and freshwater ecology. He is also specialized with the fresh, brackish and the arine fish of the country especially with members of the Mugillidae family.

He has participated in 7 national and international projects for ecological quality monitoring and fish conservation assessment. On 2000-2001 he was employed at the Aquaculture Center of Acheloos (ICHTHYKA S.A.) working on aquaculture in open sea and lagoons.

From 2006-2008 he worked at the National Reference Laboratory for Fish Diseases and the General Directorate of Fisheries Development of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
