His research interests include:
(i) the ecological quality assessment of surface waters with the use of chemical, hydromorphological and biological indices,
(ii) sampling, taxonomy, and ecology of benthic macroinvertebrates and fishes
(iii) implementation of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EU,
(iv) assessment of drinking water quality,
v) crop and water management using linear programming method

In 2015 he holds a position as a research assistant (benthic-invertebrates expert) in the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research.

He has contributed to several technical reports for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EU.
