  • MSc in Software Systems Technology (University of Sheffield, UK)
  • Work experience as software development engineer in large private companies and public sector for more than 10 years.

He graduated from the Faculty of Sciences (Department of Physics / University of Patras) and did his diploma thesis on web technologies. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Software Systems Technology from the University of Sheffield / UK. During his postgraduate studies he specialized in object-oriented programming (JAVA), database development and internet technologies.

He has more than 10 years job experience as software development engineer in large private companies (Intracom Telecom, Siemens Enterprise Communications – ATOS Unify), as well as in public sector (Computer Centre of Social Security Services S.A., University of Athens, Public Power Corporation SA).

During his work, he has been responsible for the following duties & roles:

  • Sustain and develop certain areas of system software of enterprise telecommunications by following the well-defined processes.
  • Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
  • Preserve and optimize the quality of system software.
  • Proactively ensure the highest level of quality standards in the solutions provided to the customers.
  • Get involved as a part of technical experts’ team with the design and implementation of new system requirements.
  • Liaise with global vendor support and other stakeholders for problem resolution.
  • Scan company’s products as an Open Source Software Compliance Expert for components/files/scripts, which have license conflict with company’s license.

At the same time, he has been working on mobile application development (Android, J2ME).

Currently he is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the database regarding the National Monitoring Network of Ecological Quality according to the Water Framework directive in Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters (HCMR).
