She has attended special training courses in Electrofishing.
During 1985-1987, she held a position as a research assistant at the Institute of Zoology, University of Ferrara, Italy. During 1987-1988, she has held a position as a research assistant at the
Institute of Aquaculture, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece. Since 1988, she is a research associate at the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters, HCMR. She has research interests focused on the study of taxonomy, reproduction and early life history stages of the freshwater fish species. He has participated in 15 national and international projects and co-ordinated 1 European Union (EU) project.
She is a member of the European Ichthyological Society and the Society of Greek Ichthyologists.
She has organized-coordinated 2 Workshops. She serves on the Editorial Board of the journals Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwater, Environmental Biology of Fishes and Zootaxa.
She has contributed 28 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters, as well as more than 60 other publications (i.e. conference proceedings, special publications, newspaper and magazine articles) and co-authored 46 technical reports.
