Short CV

  • BSc in Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment, University of Thessaly (2007-2012).
  • MSc in Biological Oceanography, National and Kapodistrian Univeristy of Athens (2012-2014).
  • PhD candidate, Marine Biology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2016 to present).

Ms Stamouli Caterina is a PhD student of Marine Biology in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters at the Hellenic Center of Marine Research (HCMR). Her Bachelor and M.Sc Dissertations focused on the study of benthic ecosystems, particularly on population structure and reproduction patterns of megabenthic organisms and also on assessing the ecological status of marine areas using benthic macrofauna indices.

Her PhD dissertation under the title “Diversity of the non – commercial benthic invertebrates and structure of the benthic biocenoses of the main fishing grounds of the Hellenic Seas”, constitutes an alloy of classical biodiversity approaches and fisheries research in an effort to create synergies between these two scientific domains highlighting the correlation and interaction between them.

She has contributed with 5 papers in a peer-reviewed journals and 29 other publications (i.e. national and international conference proceedings and reports of scientific programs).
