Nefeli Tsaousi is a Research Assistant at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters (IMBRIW). Her work focuses on the monitoring and assessment of freshwater ecosystems within the National Water Monitoring Network, including field sampling, benthic macroinvertebrate identification, and environmental data analysis.

She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Animal Science and an MSc in Integrated Coastal Management, and she is currently a PhD candidate in Marine Ecology at the University of the Aegean. Her research interests include biodiversity patterns in aquatic ecosystems, trophic interactions, and the application of molecular and ecological tools in environmental monitoring. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and international scientific conferences in ecology and aquaculture.
