Management of biotopes and restoration of the ascending passages of ells in the natural ecosystems of the lagoons of Mesolonghi and the Acheloos river in the prefecture of Aetoloacarnania. The project attempted to manage and restore valuable habitats for the free movement of eels in natural ecosystems.
Construction of ladders for the ascent of eels in two pumping stations of the Etolikon-Katohi regions, that will enable eels to reach the water bodies of their natural distribution. The constructions will be supplementary to those existing already and will not disturb the current function of the pumping stations. They will also enable the elaboration of guidelines for the construction of new pumping stations and small dams.
