Water monitoring with state-of-the-art technologies for the management of anthropogenic and natural disasters

The purpose of the project is to install a network of automatic water quality and quantity monitoring stations in Epirus rivers and to develop an early warning system for flood/drought and water pollution events.

The automatic stations will record at least hourly critical parameters such as water level/supply and physicochemicals (pH, water temperature, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen) and send them in near real time to an online data storage and publication platform.

The data will be open to all interested parties, through a special website that will be created as part of the project, while they will also be made public in the existing relevant infrastructure of the Inland Waters sector of HCMR (https://hydro-stations.hcmr.gr/).
