More efficient fisheries management is needed to support the continued need to manage European fisheries due to the global rise in seafood demand and the need to maximise fish production sustainably. PANDORA will build a network of industry, researchers and advisors and integrate it into existing mechanisms for Regional Fisheries Management Organisations. The purpose is to unlock the potential for maximised long-term yields for European fishing communities. Its legacy will be Pandora’s Box of Tools for fishers, researchers and managers of commercially important fish stocks. The Box will be designed for use by expert groups and training of non-experts. It will include tools for the next generation of ecosystem-based fisheries management.
