The Saudi Arabia project aimed to the offering of technical support to the Saudi Arabia fisheries sector in the Arabian Gulf, for development and conservation.
The project was composed of 11 separate modules including population dynamics, MPAs, essential fish habitats, artificial and natural reefs, development of infrastructure for fisheries, auction market design and construction, mangrove protection, integrated coastal zone management, socio-economics of the fisheries sector and the elaboration of the Saudi Arabia national fisheries strategic plan.
The project was organized in collaboration with the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Dammam, Saudi Arabia).
