PROJECT STEPS

The project STEPS (“SCIENCE FOR GROWTH-EMPOWERING”) is funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe research and innovation framework programme, through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) (Grant Agreement No: 101305402).
The STEPS project (Science for Growth – Empowering Minds) is a Horizon Europe initiative designed to bridge the gap between research and society. Rather than focusing purely on presenting scientific facts, the project introduces a “Growth Mindset” pedagogical framework. Its core vision is to humanize researchers and present science as an accessible process of curiosity, resilience, discovery, and learning from failure. Additionally, it aims to inspire future generations of scientists (with a specific focus on girls and underrepresented groups) while highlighting the vital role of the European Union in funding innovation.
The STEPS project includes two flagship initiatives:
European Researchers’ Night (ERN): Hybrid festivals featuring interactive booths, hands-on experiments, and STEAM theater, aiming to attract 12,000 participants while highlighting the resilience behind scientific discovery. Researchers at Schools: Educational “Learning Labs” and specialized “Growth Mindset Kits” designed to train 200 educators and empower 5,000 K-12 students, with a special focus on remote and vulnerable communities.
