The project is concerned with the sampling and analysis of surface water and sediments of rivers, for the assessment of chemical / physicochemical status as well as hydromorphological and hydrobiological conditions at the major intersection points of the planned Poseidon Natural Gas Pipeline. These are 9 sampling sites, one of which coincides with the location of the TAP natural gas junction with the river Nestos, so the data from the pre-existing study will be used for this location.
Sampling, analysis and treatment of all water quality parameters will be carried out in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD, EU / 2000/60).
