Inland Waters
Monitoring the ecological quality of rivers, coastal and transitional waters of Greece under the Article 8 of the WATER framework Directive 2000/60 EU (EPERAA WEST MACEDONIA) {ESPA 2007-2013}.
The Operational Programme “Environment – Sustainable Development ” is part of the ESPA 2007 – 2013 and includes a series of actions, environmental infrastructure projects and large- scale actions nationwide, the implementation of which contribute to the sustainable management of environmental resources and the upgrading of Public Administration in the formulation and implementation of environmental policy.
Its strategic objectives in the period 2007 – 2013 are to protect and enhance the environment in order to provide the basis for improving the quality of life of citizens as well as to improve the competitiveness of the economy.
